Compared to the predecessor, Olympus OM-D E-M1 [edit]
The Olympus OM-D Eastward-M1 Marking Two was introduced iii years later its official predecessor, the regular Eastward-M1. The East-M1 lacks the Loftier Resolution fashion, and also the 4K motion picture recording characteristic, which the Marking II has. The Marker 2 just has phase detection AF points, the regular East-M1 has both contrast- and stage detection AF points, simply it can only utilize one type at once. Co-ordinate to Olympus, the Marking II'due south autofocus is vi times faster and also more authentic than its predecessor'due south. The older model only has i retention card slot, the Mark Ii has two, and information technology supports UHS-2 also, dissimilar the East-M1. The Mark 2 has a slightly larger and differently textured grip.
The East-M1 Mark 2 won "Camera of the Yr" in the Camera One thousand Prix 2017.[1]
In January 2019, Olympus announced its new flagship Olympus OM-D E-M1X, which is intended for professional use.
